Barcelona ( Oct 2011 ) - Street Art / Graffiti - Part 1

Graffiti was a massive subject of focus when on my trip to Barcelona. Luckily it was EVERYWHERE and I mean literally everywhere. Even though it is still illegal to do, and if you get caught you will be in trouble, they don't really take it down, they leave it up, and thats what creates the beauty with in the back streets.

It's a shame the laws over in England don't work that way, one day you will see something great and a week later its been painted down, or taken down. At the end of the day if it is an outstanding piece of work, it shouldn't be destroyed. I don't have all the names of some of the graffiti pieces I found, but some I do have after I did massive research on them all. I haven't got all my photo's either as there was literally millions, and some weren't of good quality as the rest.

^^^ By NUFEVAH! there was a lot of work by this artist about, I like the vibrancy of the blue, white and black together it works nicely.

^^^ By PEZ, a renowned graffiti artist from Barcelona, his work can be seen almost EVERYWHERE. On door shutters, to walls, to even small phone boxes, your bound to see it somewhere or another. First time I seen Pez graffiti was in Ibiza Old Town, in a little back street. The fish bouncing off everywhere!

^^^ By IESK series, another famous artist around Barcelona, who's work was massively scene on shutters and walls. Quite creative too, and one of his pieces influenced one of my pattern designs for my final major for uni.

^^^ By SPACE INVADER, originally from France, this french artist's work can be seen in most places across the globe. There are tons located and situated around Gateshead and Newcastle. I will try and compile a collection of them all sometime and create a post based on him for you all. I love seeing these little guys everywhere because they look cool on the wall. This main piece though is MASSIVE, bigger than the normal sizes. 

Ok so there's a fair few pieces that I've posted, however it is pretty late and I am shattered, so I am going to call it a night, but I will make another post soon with the rest of the images! :)
