Tonight, instead of doing things for the easter celebrations with my pals, I was attempting my marketing research report (which that I failed at doing) and instead I sourced some old photos. Looking back I remembered there was some photos I collected of my bother back in the late 1970's where her style was amazing!!! (I get at her massively to why she never kept any of the things she wore and had back then)
So using my trusty scanner, I scanned the images in especially for you guys to check out! :) and to see how cool, yet quite simple some of these styles she had were. If I find anymore, (which there might be) I'll be sure to scan them in and wack em on another post for you guys to check out too!!
I think my mama, on the above shot was probs about 18/20 I think however I may get the ages wrong but I'm sure this is when it was. Isn't she just beautiful!
Above is a shot of my mama back in Barcelona 1979 (this brings me to a new post, which I will do after about my trip to BCN last october!), Totally in style, and totally 70's! even the hair is amazing! VOLUME AND BIG is always better, flat hair just gets too bland. Simple black clutch bag, which I really wish she kept. I love the turtle neck with the denim waistcoat, and the flared jeans, and I love the contrast in the colour scheme she has created in her look. Although some might argue it being too blue, I LOVE the fact that its just a colourway of blue, its not the same shade so it works really nicely.
I think this specific shot was taken in Iran, she lived there for quite some time. I really like the checkered / gingham styled tunic, and the little cross body bag is so sweet with this outfit. The cream colour works nicely with the red and denim. The turn up denim is really cool, and I really think it should make a come back! Its so nice and casual but looks really effective. Especially for the springtime / summer, this look is perfect for it. I might have to knock up similar styles in a new collection.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this photo of my mama. I'm not entirely sure where this was taken, as the writing on the back of the photograph is in Iranian and I can't read it at all, however I get such a feel of Russia in this image. I love the coat, the mix of fur, and what I assume will be sheep's skin or something similar, goes really nicely, its not like over the top, and fits great with a winter look. As before she is holding the same clutch as the one in the image from Barcelona. I will try to look through her photos and see if she has any close ups of the bag, however I didn't recall any.
This photo is just my ultimate fave of my mother. She was definitely about 18 in this photo, I love the blonde hair on her too. She never went back to having the blonde hair after this picture, which I think is really sad because it looked lovely. The hair cut is very 70's too I love it!
So theres a few images of my mama, and her amazing seventies style. Hope you guys enjoy looking at them as much as I did. It's crazy to see how much the fashion has evolved yet also kept the value of some styles from dated era's.
I will get the photos of BCN on another post for you guys to check out! :)
Bye bye for now folks!
Love A, xXx
